Questions

Questions about guest self check-in.

The things hosts and property managers ask before they change how guests get through the door. If yours is not here, ask us.

Does the guest need to install an app?

No. The link opens in whatever browser is already on their phone. There is no app to install, no account to create, and nothing left on the device after the stay. Why that matters at a street door.

Do I have to replace my locks or intercom?

In most cases, no. The system is built to work with the intercoms and locks already fitted — which matters most at an apartment building's shared entrance, where you are often not permitted to alter anything. Tell us what is on your doors and we will tell you whether anything is missing.

Does it work with Airbnb, Booking.com, Vrbo and Agoda?

Yes, and with bookings that come straight to you. The link is tied to the stay, not to the platform the stay was booked on, so it works the same however the guest found you. Airbnb, Booking.com, Vrbo and Agoda.

How long does a guest keep access?

From check-in until checkout. The link starts working when the stay starts and stops when it ends. You can also cap how many times it may be used, or switch it off at any point in between.

Can it open an apartment building's street door?

Yes — that is the case it is built around. The link speaks to the intercom the building already has, so the guest gets through the shared entrance without a fob, and nothing on the shared entrance is altered.

What happens if a guest locks themselves out?

You open the door for them yourself, from wherever you are, in about the time it takes to answer their message. No spare changes hands and nobody has to travel to the door.

Can cleaners and co-hosts get in?

They get their own link, on their own schedule, with their own entry in the log. Nobody needs to hold a spare key.

What language does the guest see?

The guest page reads in 18 languages and picks one automatically from the phone's own language setting, so arrival instructions are not the thing standing between a guest and the door.

Is there a record of who came in?

Yes. Every unlock is recorded with the door, the link used and the time — and so is every attempt that did not succeed.

Do you hold a key to my property?

No. There is no spare with us, no key desk holding your keys, and no lockbox on the wall. Access is granted by the link and withdrawn by the link.
