Any booking platform
Airbnb self check-in, and every other booking.
The reservation can come from Airbnb, Booking.com, Vrbo, Agoda, or straight through you. What you send is the same: one private link that opens the street door and the apartment, in the guest's own phone browser.
Airbnb is often how the guest found you. It does not have to be how they get through the door. The link is tied to the stay, not to the platform the stay was booked on.
What you send
When the booking is made, you create a link in your console and send it the way you already message the guest — in Airbnb's own thread, in Booking.com's, by email or SMS, or as a QR code in a welcome guide. There is nothing for them to install and no account for them to create.
The same message works for a cleaner or a co-host. They get their own link, on their own dates, with their own line in the log.
What the guest does
They open the link on their phone. It works in the browser they already have, including the one inside the booking app, so they are not sent out to a store and asked to download something on the pavement. The page shows the doors for that stay and a button for each one. It reads in 18 languages, picked from the phone's own language setting.
Nothing is stored on the phone. The link is the key. There is no app holding a credential, nothing to transfer to a new handset, and nothing left behind after checkout.
Both doors, not just the apartment
A lockbox or a keypad can solve the apartment door. In an apartment building the door that actually causes the trouble is the shared street entrance — the intercom you are usually not permitted to replace. The same link opens that entrance and then the apartment, so the guest is never holding a code for one door and a fob for the other.

Booking.com, Vrbo, Agoda, and bookings that come to you
The product is not an Airbnb integration and does not need to be. A stay booked on Booking.com, Vrbo or Agoda, or paid to you directly, gets the same kind of link, with the same start and end, and the same record afterwards. If you take bookings from more than one place, you are not running two arrival systems.
Not an Airbnb product
SmartStay Access is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Airbnb, Booking.com, Vrbo, Agoda, or any other booking platform. The platforms named on this page are the places guests already book. The link is ours.
What you need on the doors
In most cases, what is already there. Tell us what is on your street door and your apartment door and we will tell you what, if anything, is missing. Replacing locks is a last resort, not the starting point.
